Even a minor fender bender can cause injuries such as whiplash. Pennsylvania travelers are at great risk for collision when drivers fail to adhere to traffic laws or are negligent behind the wheel. Serious accidents, such as those involving wrong-way drivers, often result in fatality, as a recent tragedy did.
Investigators say a vehicle was traveling in a southbound direction when it veered out of its lane. The vehicle, occupied by three people, slammed into a guardrail and then careened into oncoming traffic in the northbound lane. A head-on collision with an SUV occurred, causing it to spin and flip over a rail.
Five people involved in the crash, three in the vehicle that hit the first guardrail and two in the second car. When police and rescue workers arrived on-site, the victims were entrapped in the two vehicles. Sadly, the driver of the first vehicle did not survive. All others were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Those who survived their injuries were listed in serious condition. Two of them, however, had injuries that were not considered life-threatening. If a recovering Pennsylvania accident victim believes another person’s negligence was a causal factor to his or her injuries, he or she may file a personal injury claim to seek financial recovery for losses. This type of litigation is often stressful and challenging, which is why most plaintiffs choose to hire experienced injury law attorneys to represent them in court.
