Crash leads to DUI, homicide charges against 26-year-old woman

On Behalf of | Dec 20, 2018 | Personal Injury |

Crashes happen every day. Sometimes, they’re a result of weather or malfunctions in vehicles. Other times, they’re a result of a person’s poor decisions and mistakes on the roads.

Take, for example, a recent case from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. A woman is now facing DUI charges as well as charges for homicide by vehicle due to a crash she allegedly caused.

The 26-year-old woman was reportedly driving under the influence when she crashed in Hilltown Township. She allegedly caused a two-car crash on Route 113 at around 5:20 in the morning. She had been traveling south on the highway, but she lost control of her vehicle. This resulted in her crossing into the northbound lanes and striking a car head-on.

A 56-year-old man was driving the other vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The woman also suffered injuries, but she was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and is expected to survive.

DUI crashes like this one show how quickly one poor decision can change a life. Whether a person is badly injured or killed, many lives are affected. The injured person has to go through many stages of recovery, while a person who dies leaves behind family and friends who mourn their loss.

It is important to stand up for yourself if you’re hurt or lose a loved one to a drunk driving crash. Nothing can bring your loved one back or heal what has happened, but the right help can make sure you get the compensation you need to support your family during this trying time.
