Police officer struck on way to work in Pennsylvania

On Behalf of | Jan 16, 2019 | Uncategorized |

When police are on the job, they’re constantly in danger. There is always a threat that they’ll be shot at, hit by a vehicle or otherwise put in danger. In most cases, it’s simply a matter of time before an officer suffers a work-related injury.

When an officer does get hurt, they usually have a right to workers’ compensation to cover their financial needs. They are also typically entitled to additional benefits that can help them recover.

This is important coverage for people who get hurt on the job. For example, there was a highway patrol officer who was injured in Pennsylvania when the 48-year-old man was riding to get to work. He was struck on his motorcycle, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition. He reportedly has a serious head injury.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him stayed at the scene. The police are still investigating the cause of the collision.

When officers are on their way to work, there is a potential for them to get involved in police work. In this case, it’s hard to say if workers’ compensation or a personal injury claim would be the better choice. It is safe to say that anyone who is hurt while performing duties for their employers should have the right to workers’ compensation, however, and need to be treated fairly by the workers’ compensation insurance agency.

If you’re hurt traveling for work or while on the job, it’s a good idea to consider filing a claim, so you can get the help and support you need as you heal.
