Traveler assisted Pennsylvania accident victims

On Behalf of | Aug 19, 2020 | Personal Injury |

The Pennsylvania Turnpike can be a dangerous place for those traveling by motor vehicle. There are many distracted and reckless drivers on the road who put themselves and others at risk. Drivers who are safe and observe applicable traffic laws and the rules of the road are still not immune from accidents. A recent crash ended in tragedy, moments after one car allegedly sped past another on the roadway.

The man behind the wheel of the car that was passed was heading to another state to spend a day at the beach with his siblings. He later said he noticed how fast the vehicle was moving that zoomed past him. He then saw the vehicle slam into the rear of another car.

Upon impact, the car that rear-ended the other vehicle careened off the road and struck a tree. The young man who had witnessed the horrific collision immediately sprang into action to help those who were involved. Sadly, one of the occupants of the car that was struck did not survive. The man extricated the deceased victim’s wife from the vehicle. She had been driving and was severely injured.

The front seat passenger of the car that hit the tree was trapped, but the good Samaritan was able to free him from the burning vehicle moments before the tires exploded, igniting the vehicle and the tree in a blaze of flames. When someone loses a loved one in a Pennsylvania collision, if they are an immediate family member, they can file a wrongful death claim against the person or people deemed responsible for the collision. Those who survive their injuries may file similar claims to seek compensation for documented monetary damages.
